Kennedy King
BBA, CPA, CGA – Senior Associate
Kennedy is originally from Ontario and moved to Nanaimo when she began high school. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration with Distinction from Vancouver Island University in 2012 and then was admitted to the Institute of Certified General Accountants of BC in 2015.
Kennedy started her career as a bookkeeper in the real estate industry during her studies at VIU and has worked as a local accountant in public practice since graduation. She has experience in tax planning and preparation of Personal, Corporate, and Trust and Estate returns and enjoys helping her clients get the most effective tax strategy and structure to achieve their goals. When not in the office, Kennedy enjoys golfing and hiking with her husband and dog, Odin.
What is your favorite practice area?
While I enjoy all aspects of accounting, I’m passionate about helping clients through the tax complexities of filing non-resident Canadian tax returns and compliance certificates along with deceased taxpayer returns and corporate structure planning.
Why are you passionate about what you do?
I love helping people and solving problems. Our tax system is complicated and it’s very rewarding to help clients save time and money so that they can focus on what they do best.
What’s one thing few people know about you?
I’m an identical twin and my twin is a local lawyer here in Nanaimo so you might end up seeing double around town.
