Hardeep Kaila

Hardeep has lived in Nanaimo his entire life and graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Distinction). He was admitted to the Institute of Certified General Accountants of BC in 2011. He joined Pacific CPA LLP in 2015 and became a partner in 2018.

Hardeep has experience working with clients across various business sectors but primarily deals with companies in the construction industry and handles Trust and Estate filings. Hardeep enjoys meeting with his clients to ensure their corporate and personal tax needs are being met and helping them succeed at their business. When not in the office Hardeep enjoys spending time with his wife and his two sons having fun in parks and playing sports.

What’s one thing few people know about you?

I have memorized every scene from the Seinfeld television series. Like many others, I consider it the best sitcom ever made. Whenever time permits, I like to work on the Penske file (hopefully it gets done one day).

What do you consider the most important characteristic of your profession?

Most people think that the ability to “crunch the numbers” is the most important skill an accountant needs; not true. In order to best serve your clients, a good accountant needs strong communication skills. I like to sit down with my clients and discuss their business and just catch-up on life in general. I enjoy listening to my clients and helping them deal with the Canada Revenue Agency, bankers, lawyers, and investors to reduce their stress so that they can focus more time on running their business.
