I combine technical expertise with a genuine ability to connect with people—a skill I developed early in my career through sales and university mentorship. People describe me as kind, approachable, and knowledgeable. I believe the best advice comes from truly understanding the person behind the business. I focus on tailoring sophisticated tax strategies to each client’s specific needs, ensuring we achieve outcomes that drive their success.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always knew I wanted a career where I could help people. Originally, I was interested in pursuing health sciences or becoming a doctor. While in university, a friend recommended I take an accounting course, which I really enjoyed. That experience ultimately led me to switch to being a commerce major—and the rest is history!
What keeps you professionally motivated?
Definitely the people and the continuous learning. Accounting is a profession where there is always more to discover. The more I learn, the better equipped I am to help others—which is my ultimate goal.
What drew you to the accounting profession?
For me, it offers the perfect balance between science and art. Tax legislation and accounting principles come with rules, yet there is still room for professional judgment. That flexibility allows me to explore different options and choose the one that best serves the client while remaining compliant with applicable standards.
What are your preferred practice areas?
Financial analysis and taxation planning are the core of my interests. Both of these ultimately lead to different scenarios which may fit one person but not another. That is the beauty of the profession – finding the right solutions for each client’s specific needs.
What makes you different from other accountants?
I have a very strong sense of empathy. Rather than pushing decisions, I focus on helping clients understand their options so they feel empowered to make informed choices. My ability to connect with people helps me navigate these conversations, while my desire for learning and information helps me find the right opportunities for them.
What are your favorite extracurricular activities?
My interests change a lot; I am a bit of an information enthusiast. This ranges from learning how to better utilize things in my life to developing small projects. Lately my interest has been trying to improve my golf game, which I know has a long way to go.
